Eulogies Pour In for Rob and Michele Reiner as Medical Examiner's Findings Face a Security Hold.

More than two weeks subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones persist in remembering the pair.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt able to share openly about his deep grief.

"Adequate time has passed that I can finally articulate my loss into words," posted Elwes, noting that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "When we commenced spending more time together I knew this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor shared archival material from the production, commenting that he doesn't recollect "one day without joy".

"The movie is about affection, allegiance and giving. Principles that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the ideal person to guide it," Elwes wrote.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I recall you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist

In a different tribute, legendary director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he grasped the human predicament of his character," Scorsese added.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Withheld

This week, a Los Angeles judge ruled to prevent the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A legal directive put a restriction on the files to limit the public release of "any investigative information, notes, reports or photos" connected to the active case.

The relevant authority had already determined their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a record noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Response and Criticism

After the tragedy, public figures shared divergent reactions.

Former President Donald Trump posted on the matter, offering provocative statements that were met with immediate backlash by several commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his perspective to the those speaking out last week. Speaking on his program, Rogan described the remarks as "disturbing" and remarked they showed a troubling lack of empathy.

Rogan concluded by remarking that an associate could have acted when the impulse to speak on the death was made.
