FC Barcelona to Host First Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league 30 months since relocating so building work could begin.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Recent Activities

Barça organized a public practice on the home pitch on 7 November. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht on 9 December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
