Former US treasury secretary Larry Summers is leaving the board at the ChatGPT creator, just a week after a batch of electronic messages between him and late convicted sex offender the disgraced billionaire became publicly available.
Summers commented in a release that he was "appreciative for the opportunity to have contributed, excited about the prospects of the company, and look forward observing their progress".
Summers, who once presided over the Ivy League institution, stated on recently that he would be scaling back from public commitments due to his association with Epstein.

The freshly disclosed communications showed that the economist corresponded with Jeffrey Epstein until the 24 hours preceding his 2019 arrest for suspected human trafficking of underage individuals.
In a separate statement, the technology organization said it understood his choice to step down.
"We appreciate his numerous inputs and the viewpoint he brought to the directors," the organization stated.

This news comes after both chambers of the US legislature decided on recently to endorse a bill that would require the federal prosecutors to make public its documents on the case.
